Commitment to the Community
The women who founded the Club in 1876 - just thirty years after the city of Milwaukee was chartered - were determined to bring social improvements to their city. The rich history of the Woman's Club's civic outreach and philanthropic endeavors continues to mirror the changing needs in the greater Milwaukee area. Today the Club's Foundation gives tens of thousands of dollars a year to Milwaukee are nonprofit organizations. Recipients include educational institutions, health and social service organizations, and the performing arts.
